Q. Is dropping or lowering the weight a bad thing?
Not at all. If you are unable to complete all of your reps with a certain weight, reduce the weight enough to that you can finish your set.
Q. Is there such a thing as over-training?
While it is hard to over-train, it is possible.
The main issue that leads to over-training is often related to food and rest, not working out itself.
If you are not eating enough to compensate for the amount of training you are doing, your body will suffer. The same goes for sleep – not enough and you can suffer consequences.
Signs that you are over-training include:
- Not being able to increase your weights in the gym
- Having your muscles fail to recover between workouts
- A general, unusual tiredness
Also, if you are spending 2-3 hours in the gym each day, working only one muscle group per day, you can potentially be over-training and hindering your results.
Q. I want to sign up to the plan, but I have a holiday booked during the plan, what shall I do?
This plan should work around your life, not take it over. That is the only way this can become part of your lifestyle rather than just for 3 months so go away on that holiday and enjoy yourself. We always recommend you try and follow the training principles of the plan where possible but focus on the time away as the most important thing is that you have a great holiday! So enjoy a drink if you like, eat what you choose to and have fun. Then you come back refreshed, ready to carry on from where you left off making sure you add the days away on to the end of your cycle.
Q. I am a vegetarian, can I do the plan?
We have versions of the plan that have been set up perfectly for vegetarians, with no meat involved but plenty of lovely free recipes, using protein sources of tofu, eggs, and Quorn.
However, for those who do not consume eggs, the choices will get limited.
Q. My partner and I want to do the plan, can we have the same meals as each other & do you do a couples discount?
The most important thing to understand about our plans is the calories and macronutrients get tailored to the individual and this is how our clients get such amazing results. This means that, although you get the same set recipes, it is the weights and measurements of each individual ingredient within these that is set up to your own personal needs to ensure you fuel yourself with the ideal level of calories and the right split of fats, proteins and carbohydrates for your body’s needs.
Due to this level of personalization, it does take the same amount of time to produce each plan so we cannot offer a discount for multiple purchases. However this in turn means you can shop together, prep together and even train together. We believe that team work is everything and by following the plan together combined with having your own dedicated support hero makes for a winning formula.
Q. I have an injury, what should I do?
As our plan only works alongside a training regime, if you are currently injured and unable to follow this it does mean you will have to wait before you sign up. The 3 month Plans are designed around training and rest days, seeing how your body reacts to different levels of macronutrient (carbohydrates, fats, proteins) intake on these days and it is through this process that we get the amazing results you have no doubt seen online for our clients. So sit tight, rest up and when your doctor is 100% happy with you following our routine of HIIT training and weights then you are ready to join My Fit Buddyy.
Q. I am pregnant/breastfeeding, can I do the plan?
The plan is not suitable for pregnancy but once you are back to full health after giving birth we can happily get you on board.
Our plan is perfectly safe for breastfeeding mums though but we do recommend that you speak to your GP first to ensure that they are happy with you running the plan. Everyone has different needs and the most important thing to us is the health of you and your baby, so it is always best to check this out. The exact additional calories each breastfeeding Mum requires will vary so we work on averages to start with. Therefore do stay in contact with the support hero you will have access to when you sign up should you encounter any problems.
Q. I am have a food allergy/intolerance can I still do the plan?
Allergies and intolerances are so common and we have many clients running the plan with these. Due to the flexibility of our plan, we can cater for almost everything!
When you sign up we will ask you about the main intolerances and allergies we have come across, such as dairy/lactose, wheat, gluten, yeast, seafood and fish, tomatoes etc and we will either remove these ingredients from your plan entirely or provide you with guidance when you get your plan on how to replace them when making the recipes.
If you have issues with other ingredients that you come across when you are making a recipe, then just get in touch with your dedicated support hero and they will be able to give you alternatives you can use instead or just reassure you that those particular ingredients can be left out without affecting your progress in any way.
